Ann Hagerty Boyce, A.I.A.

Ann attributed much of her interest in architecture to growing up in Charleston, South Carolina, where the proportions and feel of the furniture, rooms, houses, and gardens became intuitive. The result is a focus on a streamlined classical approach to design. Color, magnified by Southern light- and how that light can affect a room and its inhabitants- is also a critical part of Ann’s design work.
After studying Fine Arts at Skidmore College, Ann graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a degree in Art History. She received her Masters Degree in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania.
Ann spent five years with Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill in New York, a year at David Anthony Easton, Inc, and four years as a founding partner of Boris Baranovich Architects. In 1988, she started Ann Hagerty Architect & Associates, which is now based in Butler, Maryland.
